Warsash Spring Series Race 6

After the great win in IRC 1 at the Easter Challenge it was back to the Spring Series and another breezy day for the final race on April 27th. With many of the usual crew away for the weekend, myself included, Exabyte 2 managed to secure a hard fought fifth on corrected time to consolidate our position as fourth overall in IRC 1 for the Series.

Bearing in mind that the three boats that beat us were Team Tonic (Farr 52), Desperado (Swan 65 Ketch) and WISC (Swan 45) we are reasonable happy with the result. What has been apparent is after struggling against boats such as the Prima 38s in 2002 E2's new Banks Sails have given the boat a distinct performance increase for 2003.

We are currently building a new Checkmate Kevlar Smoke Jib Top in time for the first RORC offshore race this weekend which sees the fleet racing to Le Havre for the Cervantes Trophy.
