Fandango chosen for England Commodore's Cup team

David Scanlan's Bank-Sails powered First 40.7 Fandango has been selected to represent England at the Rolex Commodores' Cup which will be held from Cowes from the 11th to the 18th of August. The boat has shown it's potential over the three weekends of team trials conducted during June and culminating in the Royal Ocean Racing Club's IRC Championship last weekend in Hayling Bay.

Fandango scored an excellent second in Class 1 at the IRC Championship beaten only by the IMX 40 Courier Nord of French Commodores Cup team captain Gery Trentesaux . With conditions ranging from 6 knots on Friday to 25 knots plus on Sunday afternoon Fandango scored 3,3,5,1,8,4,3 in the competitive 26 boat fleet to count 19 points after discard. The next best trialist in Class 1 at the IRCs was sister-ship Fastwave who came 5th with 34 points.

Fandango is powered by Checkmate Carbon and Kevlar fore and aft sails and Series 2000 spinnakers. To find out what Banks Sails can do for you contact Hugh Myers on 01489 582444 or email roger@banks.co.uk.
