Final Commodores' Cup Preparations Aboard Fandango

Over the weekend of August 2nd/3rd/4th as over 800 boats started Cowes Week aboard Fandango we were making our final preparations for the Rolex Commodores' Cup which begins next Sunday, August 11th.

The event, which this year is being held under IRC for the first time, has attracted the following 11 three boat teams: Belgium, Commonwealth, England Red, England Blue, France Red, France Blue, Ireland Red, Ireland Blue, Netherlands, Spain and Wales.

With crew/helm changes aboard many of the boats to comply with the rules of the event it is difficult to pick out any favourites but aboard Fandango we are confident that we are as prepared as we can be. X-Yachts, Kerr 11.3s and Farr designs make up the majority of the entries but there are also three Corby one offs, a Mills 50, a Grand Soleil 40, a BH 41, a Prima 38 and a HOD 35 to add some variety.

Fandango has added a new Checkmate Kevlar Smoke Light No.1 to her inventory for the event and if Cowes Week is anything to go buy the sail could be seeing a lot of use!

Check back next week for regular reports on Fandango's progress at the event.
