Banks Sails for X-Yacht UK's X-332

Following on from our extensive sail development programme carried out in the X-332 class over the past couple of seasons we are very pleased to have been selected by X-Yachts UK to produce sails for their latest works boat.

Russell Hodgson and his crew will use a full suit of Checkmate fore and aft sails and Series 2000 spinnakers for their Warsash Spring Series campaign that kicks off on March 18th. Competition within the X-332s is expected to be fierce over the six race event that sees the cream of the South Coast's racers hit the water.

Last year we produced a Checkmate Cuben Fiber Mainsail and No.1 Genoa for Ian Dawson's X-332 and after seeing these in action Russell has decided to have his Light No.1 made of Cuben Fiber. This will enable us to produce the Genoa from a fabric that weighs in at 1.6oz compared with a comparable Kevlar fabric at 3.2oz, a very impressive weight saving for a light airs sail!

The rest of his inventory comprises a Checkmate Kevlar Main and Medium/Heavy No.1, a Checkmate Kevlar Sport No.3 as well as two Series 2000 spinnakers.
